Under dress

Drawings on tissue paper, signed and numbered

Under dress looks at garments that begin closest to the body, providing an influencing structure or base over which the externally perceptible clothing is layered.

Restriction, protection, and domestic debris are present in these portraits.

The work is an on-going series; each individual drawing is made with pencil on black tissue paper; the lines of the various articles of underwear becoming almost invisible against the surface of the tissue.

The initial series of 150 was included in BAU 13, the annual artist edition collective by BAU Contenitore di Cultura Contemporanea, Italy.
