déjàdéshabille

 

("already undressed") was a double-bill event I planned and initiated at artist platform soft/WALL/studs , comprised of the debut runway presentation Honey Memory by Singaporean fashion collective Youths In Balaclava and an experimental presentation designed by myself and performed by Kenneth Loe, Luca Lum and Raksha Mahtani with soundtrack by Halfpet (Aran Atsuo).

A reflection on the themes of the grunge movement in fashion and popular culture, the double-bill reflected on the life and times of the movement via Youths In Balaclava's homage while the presentation déjàdéshabille saw the repeated movements of dressing , undressing, and recombining clothing items from one rotating rack to the trance-like, purposeful discordance of Halfpet's track High Grunge mix.
