Figures of Speech

Tissue paper is embossed with writing that combines text and binary code, shown with a corresponding set of full-text versions.

The texts are the encoded recollections of an interior space; a reflection about the confluence and blurring of digital and organic memory.

Copper etching was used to produce the plates for embossment: 

each piece of metal treated to an acid bite time of between four to six hours, eroding both plate and text.
